A formal occasion for animal rescue!
Rescuing animals has always been my passion, along with writing books! I’ve fostered 29 cats, 2 dogs, 2 birds and a bunny since 2019; all of them were adopted into amazing homes, thankfully. Typically, I have to wear comfy clothing in order to snuggle homeless pets, and most people wouldn’t associate formal wear with flexible, versatile attire. I’m happy to report JJ’s House makes amazing dresses that defy the norm. As a bridesmaid, I wore a lovely JJ’s House floor-length gown to my best friend’s wedding on a ranch in West Texas. Little did I know, I’d have a chance to meet lots of adorable rescue animals who live on the ranch. Wearing a comfortable, soft bridesmaid dress, I was able to pick up and snuggle these sweet animals while also celebrating my best friend’s big day. It was certainly a night to remember! The following week, I worked a rescue flight for two sweet puppies. I currently have a foster cat in my home, alone with my three rescued Furbabies. My dream is to start my own nonprofit someday and keep saving animals.
DREAM DRESS, DREAM MAN AND DREAM WEDDING
And there we were, in front of the Altar, making our dream come true. It was really the most beautiful day of our lives. Everything was precious, starting with my dress. I felt very pretty and comfortable with it. I danced the first songs with it and could spin and move without problem. I also got an after-party dress (a shorter one from Jjshouse) and danced for 4 hours straight feeling like a feather. Even my bridesmaids wore Jjshouse's outfits and we all looked like in a fairytale. I will always cherish those beautiful memories and of course I will pass my dress on to the neu generations ♥️
Fit for a Queen
My story starts with trying to teach my granddaughter the life lessons of trying something new & then hopefully showing her how to lose gracefully. Well, I accomplished the first, but not so much on the second. I bought this beautiful dress for my first ever real Beauty pageant. It was absolutely divine! I can't say enough about the quality, fit, & color. This dress gave me confidence & made me feel beautiful. I also got to take one of my most favorite pictures of me & my mom together in this dress. She suffered a brain injury last year & I wasn't even sure she would be able to attend the pageant, but she did!! As you can see I actually won the pageant! My granddaughter was thrilled! She thought I looked like a princess, lol. So, Thank you JJ's House for the amazing memories in such a beautiful dress.
Dream Come True! ✨
OMG! Im ENGAGED!………. Now for the wedding planning!……. Let’s be honest, none of us knew what we were really in for yet! Haha The stress of planning a wedding is something im sure every bride can relate to, But one thing I wasn’t ready for is having 4 bridesmaids not only with completely different body types but also from completely different backgrounds and cultures, all wanting a different type of dress that they would be comfortable enough to wear! I had no idea where to go or where to start! I wasn’t in a financial position to have them all custom made, And i also was planning a wedding in only 6 months! Then I found JJ House! At first I was skeptical about online shopping (how will it look in person? How will the colours look? How will the material feel?) But JJ House relaxes that part of your mind by allowing you to order Swatches! And then when all the dresses arrived, Every girl was extremely happy and they were all absolutely PERFECT! Thank you JJ House for helping my dream wedding come true! ❤️
MAGICAL DRESS
Perfect Dress. The bridesmaids whom I just met at the wedding drug me out on the dance floor and kept me there all night! They kept referring to this old lady as, "Queen" lol. I know it was the dress!!! I felt elegant and confident in a situation where I'm usually the "evil" stepmother even after 20 years with the family. The dress was magical in the way folks reacted to me. Men and women complimented me and my dress. My hubby was gracious enough to allow my dance card to be filled all night! *He got the slow dances. JJH customer service is second to none! I ordered a custom size last minute and they got it to me sooner than expected. I had it steamed, and used the long ribbon/belt - wrapped twice around my waist - which made the belt look more significant. I ordered my jewelry (in gold) and clutch (in champagne) from JJH. Strappy low-heels in navy for comfort and style while dancing all night. I'm not kidding.. this dress is magical!!!!
This was the 1st time I have ordered anything from JJs House. I was expecting the process to be difficult. I was completely wrong. They were such a big help from having dresses shipped to me to try on to the actual ordering process. I was on a very tight time frame and had to order a dress that may need alterations or be too long (I'm on the short side). When I got the dress it was perfect! They got it spot on and a great help when I was trying to figure out what size to order. The only very minor thing I had done by a lady from my church was take the straps up a little but that was it.
A little back story...I had a full liver transplant March of 2020. Since then I have gained some weight and haven't been feeling great about my body. I was afraid of how I would look in this dress. This dress made me feel so good about myself. My husband helped me pick out the dress and he loved it just as much as I did. I just want to thank JJs House for helping me through the process. Always ready to answer my questions and guide me through the whole process! I have a feeling I will have some more events in the future where I will need a dress so I will be back to JJs House.
A baptism emergency for Ali
Ali was supposed to be baptized right after she was born but mom was sick, the pandemic hit and then we were able to finally baptize her but there was a problem we could not find the perfect dress! For mom it was a big deal, no one ever dressed mom as a princess when she was little, so I wanted her to look like one. No white dress I searched for was perfect, beautiful, simple and fancy, until I came to JJs webpage and found the perfect dress for my princess, then came the problem of time but JJs solved that for us too! The dress came in time and it was perfect! She looked beautiful like a princess and she loved it! Thank you!
Cancer Can't Stop Me!!! Kentucky Derby Bound!!!
Cancer Sucks!!! Five years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the support of my family, I had surgery, chemotherapy, and medication. I thought the war was over and the battle was won. This fall, doctors confirmed that my cancer is back. After a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I am living life to the fullest. I intend to create as many wonderful memories with my husband, 2 young daughters, and family as my life will allow. This year, I am taking a trip with my family to the Kentucky Derby!!! JJ's House had the perfect dress to go with my hat and shoes. If I win this contest, I will use the money to continue fulfilling dreams and making memories. Thank you JJ's House!!!
My magical wedding
This is the story of the happiest day of my life, my wedding day. That day, as I took the first step down the aisle, I felt like I was walking on a cloud. The sun was setting, and its warm rays illuminated the stained-glass windows. All the guests were standing, and my best friend stood at the end of the aisle with tears welling up in his eyes. My gown, which my mother had made, flowed behind me like a river of ivory. When I reached him, he took my hand in his, and we exchanged heartfelt vows that we had written ourselves. Our ceremony was filled with joy and love, and as we kissed, the room erupted in joyous cheers. That day was the most magical day of my life, and I was grateful to be marrying my best friend and soulmate.
Shhh! Janie’s being asked to prom!
It’s getting harder and harder to find dresses that fit Janie and she absolutely loves getting dressed up! Just today our first JJ’s House dress arrived — her choice for Easter — and it looks gorgeous on her! Don’t let the cat out of the bag, but our girl is being asked to prom and will need to find another spectacular new dress! We would be so delighted to have prize $ to put toward a JJ’s House selection so that Janie can really shine at prom!
The day my dream came true
As I walked down the aisle, my heart raced with excitement. I couldn't believe that this day had finally come - the day I married my best friend. He stood at the end of the aisle with a huge smile on his face, and the guests were all seated. The sun shone through the stained-glass windows, casting a rainbow of colors on the walls. My dress flowed behind me like a dream, and as I reached him, he took my hand in his. We exchanged vows, and as we kissed, the world faded away, leaving just the two of us in perfect bliss. It was the most beautiful day of my life.
A Honeymoon in the Maldives
My long-time boyfriend and I finally got married, and it was such a special moment for us. To celebrate our union, we decided to take a honeymoon trip to a private island in the Maldives. The moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. It was so romantic and peaceful, just what we needed to start our journey together. On the first day of our honeymoon, we took a walk along the beach, feeling the soft sand between our toes and the warm sun on our skin. We held hands, enjoying the beautiful scenery around us. Suddenly, my husband stopped and turned to me. He looked deep into my eyes and said, "You know I love you, right?" I smiled and nodded, wondering what he had in mind. Then he got down on one knee and pulled out a small box from his pocket. My heart raced as he opened the box to reveal a stunning diamond ring. "Shahonaj, will you marry me all over again?" he asked, his eyes locked on mine. I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I replied, "Yes! Of course, I will!" We hugged each other tightly, knowing that our love was stronger than ever. For the rest of our honeymoon, we savored every moment together, taking long walks on the beach, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, and enjoying each other's company. We knew that our love would last forever and that nothing could ever come between us.
Feeling pretty
Perfect for a December family wedding. It was a day full of beautiful people and I fit right in. The dress fit perfectly and held up all evening. It didn’t wrinkle or show signs of being worn for hours
True love in Tuscany
My best friend since high school made the greatest decision of getting married in Tuscany. We had a stressful time finding bridesmaid dresses for everyone since we were spread all over the globe. Luckily, the bride introduced us to JJs website and solved all our concerns! Same fabric and same colour dresses for everyone and delivered to our doorstep. I got my my dress delivered to Australia before the wedding just in time, got it in my backpack (just in case my luggage went missing) and went across the globe to the most beautiful wedding I could ever dream of! A day full of love and see my best friend getting married. We dreamed about finding true love when we were children, and my heart bounces of joy to see that you found it ❤️ Thank you for giving me the best gift of being your bridesmaid and your friend.
Sister of the Bride
I wore this elegant dress for my sister's wedding. It looked really pretty and so many people complimented me on it. I am 8 years old and around 4'6" but it made me feel a lot taller and very mature. I danced a lot and when I twirled it looked flowy and magnificent. I love how the bodice is lace and the bottom part is tulle, and the large bow at the back makes it look even prettier than without it. A perfect dress for the sister of a bride. Thank you JJsHouse for making this super stunning dress for me! I really enjoyed wearing it.
Era solo una niña...
Desde que era pequeña fui educada en una colegio religioso, bueno…tengo malos recuerdos, como muchas niños, sufrí hostigamiento y humillaciones, de mis compañeros y a los que yo consideraba mis amigos. (Si pasas por esta situación, aunque sientas que no es necesario o que molestas a tus seres queridos o inclusive sientes miedo, por favor busca ayuda pronto) nunca les conté a mis padres lo que pasaba por miedo, estaba tan sola y acorralada, al ser tan pequeña mi inocencia me cegó a tal grado que pensé que lo que hacían era normal y tenía que soportarlo por nuestra amistad. Pasó el tiempo y como consecuencias me generaron inseguridades tanto físicas como emocionales, me rompieron a tal grado que no podía hacer nada sin juzgarme, ni siquiera podía mirarme al espejo. Y es bueno aceptar de vez en cuando que estas mal. Una vez alguien muy especial me enseñó que pedir ayuda no es algo malo, sino que es negar a rendirse. Esa gran persona me ha acompañado en las buenas y en las malas, cuando más lo necesito esta para mí, me enseñó a aceptarme, a trabajar en mí, a confiar. Me costaba mucho salir a la calle porque me daba miedo verme mal, al cumplir mis xv años, tenía que escoger un vestido que fuera de mi agrado, fue algo muy difícil; después de tantas búsquedas y decepciones por días, cuando me había dado por vencida, encontré un hermoso vestido que fijo por completo mi atención; de JJ HOUSE así que con ayuda y apoyo de mi familia lograron motivarme. Era un vestido color borgoña muy lindo, cuando el día llegó, una vez puesto, sentí algo que muy pocas veces había pasado, sentí que era la mujer más hermosa, me sentí tan segura de mi misma y cómoda. Nunca imagine que un vestido me hiciera sentir tan bien, y estoy muy agradecida porque gracias a ello, di mi primer paso. Ahora soy una persona que se ha desarrollado y soy más madura mentalmente, no quiere decir que he sanado completamente, ahora sé que todo el tiempo que decían esas palabras tan hirientes, eran mentiras, no toda mi vida fue una tragedia, he vivido momentos felices junto a las personas que más amo, la vida me ha enseñado tanto a una edad tan joven, debemos aprender todos a reparar lo dañado; hoy tengo dos grandes amigos y el amor y apoyo de mi familia. Así que no hay que rendirse, muchas veces sentimos que el mundo cae encima de nosotros, tenemos que aprender a sobrellevarlo aunque sea muy difícil, siempre encontraremos un rayo de esperanza porque todos tenemos un propósito; ahora me siento más segura de mí y sé que en cualquier prenda que me ponga me quedará muy bien y que lo más valioso es el interior y todos somos bellos y perfectos. ¡Gracias JJHOUSE por ayudarme a dar mi primer paso!
