Build excitement for your guests weeks prior to your big day
Be sure to include your wedding guests as part of the process. They will feel special and in-the-know, and will get excited leading up to your nuptials. I created a Facebook event about two months prior to my wedding day and invited my guests to join. I posted a message with a photo at least once a day. (Tip: You can grab images off the internet to accompany your posts.) I included all the info guests need—attire, location, timeline, and so much more! This was way more interactive than creating a wedding website that you don’t even know if anyone is visiting. I found it more engaging to share tidbits of information, a little at a time. My guests liked, commented, and shared their own stories for everyone on the event guest list to see. People were in engaging who had never even met before. My goal was for my guests to get excited and to have a personal experience with me and my groom. Our respective families and friends hadn’t met prior to the wedding, so introducing the groomsmen, officiant, etc with photos and stories helped make the introductions easier. The post that by far got the most interaction was the one where I announced we would have a Wedding Olympics yard game’s competition and a dance-off! I really saw the competitiveness come out! No matter what you choose to do and how you decide to tease information to your guests, just make it personal and weave your personalities into your posts!
