I really did feel like Cinderella :)

Shopping for a dress was the overwhelming part when the ball season in Australia comes around. It is important to get your dress months earlier before all the other girls do so that you can send your image and secure your dress. The other problem about waiting too late is the fact that all the pretty styles would have gone and it is near impossible to get your size. Also dress stores will raise their prices. A big tip is to NOT buy the first dress you try on because I guarantee you that it is hardly ever your dress. Personally I found that shopping in person at a couture is very frantic and scary because it seems like they are persuading you to buy a dress that is way too expensive (I'm talking about $950) or something that doesn't fit right to your body or feel comfortable. Take a shot and buy a dress on JJ's house because dresses are around $250 and you can customise the colour and the fit to your own measurements. I highly recommend this as it fit perfectly with the dress taken up a little (because I was wearing low heels so that I was comfortable) and the straps. I felt gorgeous because I was elegant in a dress that fit well to my body shape and it wasn't something I was ashamed or wearing. PICK A DRESS THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU ignore the fashion trends and statements that may not suit your body or feel right for you. Most importantly trust yourself and have a good time. If you don't have a date, that's ok (it's not the end of the world), go with one of your best friends instead. That's what I did and I had a blast. Also make sure your jewellery, hair, nails and makeup complement your dress and the look you are going for. Enjoy the time that you have and feel confident in yourself xx

A Timeless Classic

Prom was definitely giving subtle, soft and classy in my red lace mermaid style dress from JJ's. I felt like a Pretty Little Princess while the sun was up and a Glamorous Movie Star as it began to set. Red & Lace will forever be timeless and a classic, the same way I like to think about my beauty inside and out! Best Prom Day

Shopping for the Perfect dress was a key part of preparing for prom. I knew this was the one as soon as I tried it on. Once dress was found we had to purchase the accessories. A group of us had a spa morning getting mani-pedis to relax. Professional hair stylists for sure helped reduce the afternoon stress of getting ready. My best tip is to just have fun and enjoy the moment with your friends and family.

I love it

I love this dress and I got so many compliments. I felt very comfortable and now have good memories that I associate with the dress.

My first and simply elegant high school graduation dress

I was going to my high school prom. I am smaller and shorter than all my friends and was having a difficult time finding dresses to fit me perfectly. I wanted a dress with spaghetti straps with a slit in the front, not too revealing, that would be simple and elegant at the same time. I am not flat chested so that would require me to wear a bra. I wanted the spaghetti straps. I went to Texas, Florida and Georgia looking. When my grandma found out, she said she would buy me the perfect dress. Everyone laughed at her because they thought it was going to be old fashioned. Grandma sent me a picture of this dress. I loved it. Was it going to fit me without my bust hanging out? She told me that she ordered the dress, and it would be there in a few days. She drove over 60 miles to drop off the dress. The search was over. I tried it and it fit perfectly. She took some pictures of me so I could see how it looked on me. It was absolutely beautiful. Everyone loved it. I went to the prom with my friends. I did not have a date, but we had so much fun dancing and having a good time. I felt beautiful and I love my dress. Whenever I have another formal event, I am going to have my grandma help me to pick my dress. Thank you, JJ's House, for making my prom a total success with great memories. On my way to college!

We did the thing most girls won’t dare to do….

WE INTENTIONALLY GOT THE SAME PROM DRESSES!!! This was such an amazingly magical, fun-filled night! My identical twin sister and I, and our two wonderful best friends decided it would be fun to do the thing most girls won’t dare to do, and intentionally wear the same dresses in different colors to prom! It was a blast. We all absolutely fell in love with these beautiful dresses from JJ’s house! The attention to detail on the dresses is just stunning. The theme of the prom was “Once Upon A Prom,” so we wanted to get dresses that made us feel and look like fairytale princesses; these dresses did just that! The way the sparkles glinted in the light was just magical. And the feeling of the beautiful, giant skirt twirling on the dance floor was unforgettable! Even my boyfriend noticed how much fun it was to twirl me in this dress; needless to say, after he had this realization I got a little dizzy! Lol. All in all it was a wonderful night with my best friends, in these absolutely gorgeous dresses! Thank you, JJ’s house!

prettiest look ever!

No one that I’ve showed my pictures to has believed that I only paid $120 for my dress. Everyone has thought that I bought it from a boutique. This dress got me SO many compliments. I didn’t need to to much with my look since the dress had a lot of attention to detail. A few things that I think tired this look together were: 1. The glitter covered flowers- even though it’s a small touch, it looked great in photos and they look beautiful preserved. 2. Simple jewelry- dressing myself in simple, elegant jewelry was the BEST way for me to show everyone that the dress was the star of the show. 3. Makeup- I usually never makeup, but this year I decided I wanted to make sure my makeup stood out and made a statement with my already natural features. 4. Shoes- Even though you can’t see them in the photos my shoes were beautiful. I wore a 5in heel and the heel was covered in rhinestones. The way they tired up was a lace up and it really tied the look together, especially since the dress has a slit. This dress was beautiful and since I didn’t spend upwards of $400 on it, I got a pair of statement heels that I can rewear and restyle!

He Calls Me His Queen

As sad as it is to say, I almost didn't get this opportunity. But thankfully, everything worked out wonderfully. My my date was perfect, my makeup was flawless. My dress was unique and individual, matching my personality perfectly. No other girl had a hi-lo dress, so my glittery golden high heels and pedicure were on full display. I invited my boyfriend to come to prom with me. He lives about 3 hours away, so it was a drive. However, he told me that nowhere is too far to drive to see his Beautiful Queen. Because she doesn't like me, my boyfriend's mom only allotted us enough time to have a photoshoot (nonnegotiable because she wanted photos) OR eat dinner together (but she would be upset). Because I am prediabetic, this was a problem, so I had to find a solution. So I set up a picnic in the park with Italian and desert I ordered. My love surprised me with 2 dozen long-stemmed roses and then put his jacket on me because it was a little chilly. The first dance of the night was Lady In Red, to which my boyfriend pulled me in, placing his arms around my waist and guiding me in a slow ballroom medley as I wrapped my arms behind his neck and rested my forehead against his. I was the only girl in a red dress, and no one cared enough to dance to this ballad, so we were alone on the dance floor. All eyes were on us when, as is our tradition to this song, he dipped me, placing a peck on my lips and making me blush as he whispered in my ear that I was his Queen, his Lady, and anything I wished for, he would do. For the song Perfect, he picked me up and held me in his arms, cuddling me close as he gently swayed with me in his arms, singing every word to me. We danced the whole night away and I never wanted the night to end. Inevitably, however, the clock struck midnight and the dance came to a close. But the magic never did.

Double Prom Concert

My choir was singing at the uk-themed Last Night of the Proms, one concert in the morning and one in the evening, so I came to JJ's House for two dresses, one for each performance. I was able to afford two different colours and styles so that I could have a different outfit for both performances, and felt so pretty it was fabulous :-) Had numerous lovely comments from fellow singers and some of the 1500+ audience members who came over at the end and said they had been admiring the dress during the concert and thought it looked amazing. These were the first floor-length gowns I'd bought so I was a bit tentative, but it was great to have the custom fit option so that I was confident they would be long enough and there was only a minimum amount of extra work for my friendly neighbourhood sewing expert for them to fit perfectly. I also hadn't left tons of time, but JJ's House made them and shipped them exactly as scheduled so I was all set and confident for a lovely glamourous day out! :-)

Prom 2023

Beautiful royal blue dress with a matching pearl clip in dress. I also had these 2 amazing guys as my dates. Tip: is to always listen to Taylor Swift in the truck before you have to do the march lol.

Best Night Ever

This dress has seen some of my favorite memories that I will never forget. The process of pictures to the dancing was magical and I mis give credit where credit is due a lot that is because of how amazing the dress made me feel.

Kyra Prom 2023

Could not be happier with my dress. I am a larger gal and the thought of going into a shop to look and try on dresses for my prom was daunting. I found JJ's House online and it was fab. Got to try samples of three dresses in the comfort of my own home. Found my size, returned the samples and ordered my dress. PERFECT had the best night. Amazing memories made which will last forever. Need to find another opportunity to wear it again!

AMAZING PROM DRESS

I was extremely satisfied with my purchase from JJ’s house! My prom dress had everything I was looking for at an affordable price. I received many compliments and it was better than I could’ve imagined; the detailing, the colour, everything about the dress was amazing. This dress is what made my prom memorable in my eyes.

Senior Prom by Lake Harriet

LOVE this dress! It was gorgeous, unique, and made me feel like a princess! I took pictures by Lake Harriet and the sequins throughout the dress sparkled in a whole new light in the sun that reflected off the water. Nobody else at prom had a dress like this and I felt special in my own look. The fabric wasn’t too heavy and it fit like a glove so I was comfortable for the whole day and night. I couldn’t have asked for a better dress! Best day ever!

Golden Cinderella

Going to prom was like a dream or a night to remember just like they say in the movies. Everyone from my High school was dressed up to the nines, being dolled up fancy dresses, wonderful hairstyles and accessories too not to mention the different styles of dresses. I choose to go with a elegant classic A-line ball gown with an illusion neckline and floral print and of course I decided to be different a choose a gold like color for the color of my dress as for my hair I always tend to put it in a ponytail or wear it down but since that night was so special I decide to do something different almost like a Cinderella style. I wish I could dress up like that all the time and experience that night again. Mingling with friends and staying out as long as we wanted to til we were told to go home of course. That's why I titled this entire "Golden Cinderella" because for one night I felt like a princess.

Absolute Slay Dress

This dress stood out so much for my boyfriends prom and was absolutely stunning, I will be buying my prom dress from here in the next month. This red dress in red matches perfectly with silver jewellery and silver sparkly heels. For the pricing this dress was an absolute steal with very similar dressed being over $800 from other dress stores. Highly recommend JJ’s house to buy any occasion dress.

Prom in Madrid

I’m glad I bought my dress here! I am a short girl (155cm) and the size was perfect! I Went with my family to the Almudena’s cathedral and take some wonderful pics!

My Amazing Prom Night

Prom night had finally arrived, and I was filled with nervous excitement. I wore a stunning red gown that matched my fiery personality perfectly. As I entered the transformed gymnasium, the dance floor was alive with vibrant colors and pulsating music. But just as the night was reaching its peak, the lights suddenly went out. Panic rippled through the crowd, but I saw it as an opportunity. I pulled out my flashlight and declared, "Let's have a flashlight prom!" Smiles spread across the faces of my friends as they joined in. With the dance floor aglow from hundreds of flickering lights, the atmosphere turned enchanting. The DJ played acoustic songs, and we swayed to the music, casting ethereal shadows on the walls. It was a moment of pure magic. When the power returned, we continued dancing, now infused with renewed energy. Prom night had taught me to embrace the unexpected and make the most of every moment. As the night ended, I held onto the memory of our flashlight prom, knowing that it had forever etched itself in my heart.
